I'm Geoff Lake, an independent candidate for Shaker Heights City Council. With 10 years in the Ludlow neighborhood, I understand our community's needs. As a liberal-leaning individual with a background in healthcare administration and master's degrees in Social Work and Business Administration, I'm committed to creating an environment where everyone can flourish.
Shaker Heights' diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and it's one of the reasons my family and I chose this town. We wanted our children to grow up surrounded by friends from different backgrounds. I cherish the sight of neighbors taking evening strolls and the reassurance of my children's safety as they play with their friends. The well-designed road system discourages shortcuts, preserving the tranquility of our neighborhood. The old trees lining our roads and the unique architecture of our houses add to the town's charm. I also enjoy visiting local spots like Motiv coffee on Lee and the vibrant Van Aken District.
However, I believe that some of the government policies and laws in Shaker Heights make life unnecessarily challenging for its residents. These issues hinder the town's diversity, vibrancy, and overall desirability.
